Your Visit

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are visiting The Dice Box for the first time, you may have a few questions. Here are some of the things we are asked most often. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact your local Dice Box lounge and the team will be happy to help.

Do I need to book before visiting? +

Booking is recommended, especially during busy times such as weekends, evenings and school holidays. Some locations can accommodate walk-in visits if space is available. You can check availability and book through your chosen lounge page.

How does it work when we arrive? +

Once you arrive, our team will welcome you, show you to your table and explain how everything works. You can choose games to play, LEGO to build, order food and drinks, and settle in to enjoy your time. You do not need to plan anything in advance.

Do I need to know how to play board games? +

Not at all. Many of our visitors are completely new to modern board games. Our team is happy to recommend games that suit your group and experience level. You can keep things simple or try something more involved if you prefer.

Is it suitable for children? +

Yes. Families are very welcome. We ask that children remain supervised by their accompanying adults at all times, as our games, bricks and space are shared by all guests. Some locations also offer family focused sessions and events. We have a range of games suitable for children aged 2+ and up, so families can enjoy the experience together.

How long can we stay? +

If you have booked in advance, your table will be reserved for the time slot you selected when making the booking. If you are visiting as a walk in, we will always do our best to seat you, and we will let you know how long the table is available based on upcoming bookings.

Is The Dice Box only for gamers? +

No. The Dice Box is designed for everyone. While some guests visit specifically for board games, many come simply to spend time together, enjoy food and drinks, or try something a little different from a traditional café.

Can we just come for food and drinks? +

Yes, you are welcome to visit for food and drinks even if you choose not to play games or build. However, table cover charges still apply, as these help us provide and maintain the games, bricks and welcoming environment that all guests enjoy.

Do you sell the games we play? +

Yes. All Dice Box locations have a retail area where you can purchase board games and LEGO, so if you find something you love, you can take it home. Some locations also stock puzzles and trading card games. Always subject to availability

Do you host events? +

Yes. Many locations run events such as social game nights, family sessions, build focused activities and themed evenings. Events vary by location and are listed on each lounge page.

Is The Dice Box accessible? +

Accessibility varies by location. If you have particular requirements, please contact your local Dice Box so the team can advise and assist where possible.
